Have you ever liked a movie that it seems the whole world hates? A movie you like so much that it feels like a “guilty pleasure” because its hated by most. I’m sure we all do… Well let me tell you about my secret love, a underrated movie called, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Yes, I love this movie! This movie is hated by critics and audience members alike. Known for retiring actor Sean Connery this movie is considered one of the worst movies of 2003! Director Stephen Norrington had such a bad experience on this film that he has not directed a movie since. But I beg to differ! A strong cast led by veteran actor Sean Connery as (Allan Quatermain), Jason Flemyng as (Dr. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde) and the lovely Peta Wilson as (Mina Harker). A story of legendary characters brought together like a modern day Avengers team to stop a world ending threat may seem a bit cliché but this action adventure does not disappoint. With a Captain Nemo that knows martial arts and a James Bond-type Tom Sawyer who twirls a pair of six guns like a cowboy at the O.K. Corral, the team still manages to have some chemistry with Rodney Skinner (a.k.a. Invisible man) turning out to be a fan favorite. Its also a nice time piece taking place in a Victorian age world with stunning set pieces. This movie is a 10+ for me! If you have not seen this film, pay no attention to all the bad reviews, grab some microwave popcorn and enjoy. So do you have a movie that you love but keep it locked in the basement like a bad secret? What movie do you love that no one else does?…
